2020 Annual Meeting Info

The 2020 Annual Meeting was originally scheduled for March 21, 2020, and was to include Drs. Ronald G. Beckett and Gerald Conlogue, who were to discuss "Mummy Adventures Since the Road Show".

Unfortunately, due to concern surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, this had to be postponed; and finally it was decided a formal meeting such as we normally have simply could not be done. As a result, the meeting was held "virtually", on July 7 and ran from 7:00PM - 7:40 PM, using the ZOOM Video Conferencing tool. While members were invited to watch the presentation and forward questions, only a little over 30 total people ended up doing so.

A recording was made of the meeting, which can be accessed in the "Meeting's Images" link above.
> The original flyer for the meeting is not relevant.
> There was no formal program for the event either, though an image of the email announcement is available by clicking: 2020 Meeting Invite.

This was, therefore, a "business-only" meeting. Highlights include:

> FOSA President Scott Brady kept the meeting moving along, since the ZOOM interface was due to automatically end within 40 minutes of starting. The business session actually started a few minutes after the ZOOM session started, so the length of the recording is less than the 40 minutes anticipated.

> There was a moment of silence at the beginning of the meeting in memory of Dr. Brian Jones, who passed away on July 4, 2019.

> Recording Secretary Mike Cahill provided a year-in-review report on FOSA's 2019 activities.

> FOSA Treasurer Jim Trocchi presented the 2019 Treasurer's Report.

> CT State Archaeologist Sarah Sportman gave the OSA report.

> Cynthia Redman gave the Elections Committee Report.

> Jim Trocchi then announced the recipient of this year's Certificate of Appreciation award: Richard Hughes. There was alsoa special Certificate of Honor award, presented to Dreda Hendsey, for her outstanding work as FOSA Treasurer for over 2 decades.

Facsimilies of Rick's and Dreda's certificates, as well as all previous such awards, can be by clicking .
